Sweet story.
Small settlement on the Eastern Hungary, population ~3000, the vast majority is gypsies. The article says as the covid pandemic reached the village they took it seriously since people got quarantined by the dozen. Then after the first wave went away they did not cared anymore, and misinformation spread about the vaccines - like "they spread the disease with the vaccine" or "the problem with the injection that it has no antidote"-, a pair of siblings died after they got their covid shots, and now the gypsies don't want to get vaccinated.
I suspect (very reasonable speculation based on the article) up to date they got the experience that barely anyone had any serious issue after contacting covid (they aren't wrong). And when those two died they made the connection, it was because of the vaccine. The two died of covid ofc, but they had serious illnesses beside.
