All three judges of the 8th section of the Regional Federal Court's 4th region (covering the south) have voted in favour of Lula's condemnation for money laundering and passive corruption regarding an apartment he received as a "gift" from his corporate friends; furthermore, they also expanded his penalty from 9 to 12 years in prison.
(Sadly), he won't be arrested yet, as his lawyers can still resort to some delaying legal instruments. Afterwards, they can request a judgement on higher courts, but by then Lula may be arrested.
The critical question is wheter or not he can legally run for President in this year's elections: the Supreme Electoral Court will have to decide this, and his legal team may resort to other courts.
If he does sucessfully evade the law and run, there's a large risk that he may win, as he's strong in the polls. If he wins, he may definitively escape jail.
In response, he has repeated his old rhetoric: he's a gud boy who dindu nuffan, there's no evidence and all accusations against him were fabricated by the bourgeoise as part of a massive conspiracy amogn the elites to bring down a heroic warrior of the working class.
