I once installed Gentoo. For some reason it wouldn't stop shitting the bed, constant crashes one thing after another. Users were very patient and helpful but it was always something like "oh yeah, you just need to edit these lines and recompile this package." like that was nothing at all. I thought a distro where I compile everything would be cool, but actually it's like a second job. I felt really bad about wasting their time but I gave up. Yeah, that was Gentoo.
