First, get a radeon card with Graphics Core Next. The new AMDGPU drivers that replace the old proprietary drivers are fantastic.
Second, get a motherboard that supports overclocking from the bios/uefi.
Third, if you want wireless you need an atheros chip. Check out thinkpenguin.
Last, aim a little high on the PSU, I have heard linux drivers have higher power consumption on pcie devices.

Also, if you are using wine, check out gallium nine.

Actually, I think that psu thing only applied to nvidia. Always better to over shoot than under, and don't cheap out with a piece of shit either. That's just common sense though.
