I think you're giving up too early. For what it was, it was relatively successful in my opinion, but there isn't going to be a massive amount of traffic. Even on the old Farhad forums there was no more than a handful of people on at any time. The new forum didn't have enough time to establish its niche or make much headway on the goals you listed before it went offline. Growing a forum tends to be a long term game.

If by "moderate leftists" you mean liberals, I disagree. They tend to be the ones who indulge the most in this kind of thinking. In fact, the far left is more divided on it: compare /leftypol/ on cripplechan with r/socialism or r/anarchism.
