those situations meaning the things she described happening with sam, charlie, roberto and then andrei. there's a common thread of a naive trusting girl being taken advantage of by men that have either lied, abused, groomed, blackmailed and/or coerced her to do things she wasn't ok with. I don't think any of that was by choice. Maybe just a childlike innocence in a harsh world of predators.
