Normal stable guys are boring to them. They secretly enjoy push and pull dynamics that keep on their toes. If you're asking me for the underlying causes though, one theory is that trauma/abuse victims have an subconscious drive to recreate the unstable conditions of their childhoods to stress test how they've adapted. Another is that it's pure lizard brain hypergamy in wanting a subjectively high value man that can play their own games better.
