Sico is determined to be a human trainwreck because life is more entertaining for her that way, regardless of whether other people are mangled in that trainwreck.

Sico is not a child, she's 17 years old. She may not be a legal adult but it's been a long time since she was a child.

Her parents didn't abandon her "at the first opportunity". The repercussions of Sico's chicanery have been causing hassle for them and her sisters for years, going back to Sergio. They put her in therapy for a long time and it didn't take.
