I much prefer it without captchas tbh and I think it helps to encourage more posting. We had them off for the longest time before there were some spammers but we don't seem to be under threat at the moment so we turned them off. If it becomes a problem we'll just turn them on again. The needing to have a post history before you can upload images thing is annoying, especially on mobile, but it's necessary to prevent the cp spam so that's why that's enabled.
