Rather than taxing the rich and re-distributing their Wealth to smelly brownoids, why not let them re-invest into something larger, let's say a mini-state? Private Cities, or perhaps even entire Duchies, Kingdoms. The way the Economy works currently is that while the State owns all Territory, Private individuals are permitted to invest into said territory (Private Property), the highest structures which are permitted are Corporations. The way Wealth should be viewed is as something which can be re-invested, given that there is the opportunity to do so, modern excess wealth is a consequence of lack of said opportunity as legal structures have not been updated to reflect the new reality. A Feudal System would unburden the State, while giving it more liberty to focus on bigger things, and it would permit the Economy to grow far larger.
