Call me a cynic but I don't think there's too much to it. She might have been cute and wholesome and whatnot, but once she had a taste for dick and drugs and the freedom to meetup with the guys she met online once she left home for college, she simply liked it too much and didn't look back.
Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one.
