Samefagging for the last time here, but after taking a closer look, it doesn't even look like herpes. She peeled off skin from her lip, maybe she has an anxious tic and bites them a lot. Herpes sores are pustules that are large and highly inflames, with yellow heads similar to bad pimples. Sometimes they can look dark orange and crusty and dry, but it's always quite large in those cases.
Pic related is actual oral herpes. Lots of people get chapped, dry, or bitten lips and panic thinking they might have herpes, but really herpes is extremely inflamed and painful.
