Reminds me of an old friend of mine who had CPTSD from being abused. Perfectly fine and easy to talk to most of the time, but if something triggered her and made her feel disposable or something (anything from a certain word to something said in a tv show could do it), she'd start to sulk and sometimes find a way to construe everything as a sign that she's worthless and deserved to be mistreated and she was born to be mistreated and stuff. So she overcompensated by being radically political.
