Plants are more advanced than most think, they have some form of awareness. However, they do not have a central nervous system, which means they cannot physically feel pain like you or I can. When they are dipped into scalding hot water until they die, they scream out and literally cry in pain, because their pain receptors are telling their body "if we stay here, we are going to die". And they do. When their throat is slit and they are left hanging upside down to bleed out, all while alive, they are also feeling all this pain. Imagine how painful that would be.
You mention the thought process of, "If all things here suffer anyway, whats it matter". Remember that the animals have a central nervous system, on top of being both emotionally and physically abused and tortured since the day they were born. I would argue the animal is more abused in this situation rather than the home grown cucumber. I do not want you to view my post as confrontational, because some people do when it comes to this topic. I just want you to view this as another person's view on the topic. Do with the information as you please, but I would like if you gave it some consideration.

A pig who has been trapped in a cage so long that it's legs are non functioning because it has never walked, thus meaning it's leg muscles are so weak it cannot support it's own weight. This is common in the meat industry. It has a concept that it's legs don't work, no matter how hard it tries to move them. It has been stripped of it's very freedom. Pigs and dogs are incredibly similar, and when we see dogs in asian meat market cages, we get angry. We think, "How can these zipperheads keep such a cute and innocent dog locked up, bone skinny, and eat it?" We need to think the same thing about pigs. We just don't because most people haven't been around livestock, and don't understand how these animals actually act. They're actually very friendly, and they actually even play. I've seen cows and pigs play, just like a dog would. Animals know what freedom is.

But money talks, and the only reason why people start meat companies isn't out of the goodness of their own heart. It's for money. I don't fund the meat industry. More and more people are choosing this too. It doesn't mean you should go eat those psyop fake burgers, though.
