Codeine is useless to junkies for a couple of reasons.

1) Its deadly to inject it into the blood. It has to go through the digestive tract to the liver first where it gets converted to morphine and other metabolytes like norcodeine.

2) Junkies are so fucked from injecting stronger drugs like heroin fent and oxyxodone that they barely get a buzz from good ol codeine
