The priest was bummed out for the murder and all the bad fortune happened: war, earthquakes, wind, fire, famine, plague, bandits, all the deaths. So obviously he isn't like a "real" Buddhist. And he is imacted by the horrible story much. At 06:10 he says:
>This time, I may finally lose my faith in the human soul.
