I looked into the pirate. I think the closest to whom I remembered is Ambrose Cowley. He had one voyage: around the world. He learnt mathematics at Cambridge. He sailed together with John Cook on the Revenge, starting in 1683 from Virginia. They sailed to Hispaniola, Cape Horn, then the Philippines. Somewhere on the Pacific they met with John Eaton, and he transferred to his ship, the Nicholas. They did some successful plunders and sold their booty in Canton (Guangzhou). Then on a small boat with 9 men he sailed to Java, then on an even smaller boat to Batavia (~Jakarta). Here he signed up to a ship heading to Holland as navigator. They arrived in 1686 to the port of Brielle. From here as a passenger he sailed to London. He wrote a diary, half of that was lost, so he had to rewrite from memory. With the title of Voyage Around the Globe it was published in William Hacke's Collection of Original Voyages, in 1699.
