No. Original idea wasn't deep fried either but ended up adding a bit of water and make it saucy because started out with too much heat and the onions started to burn and the meat wasn't ready yet. And poured in worster sauce too.

Well, I added slices of hot green paprika, but no dried ground red paprika.
Tokány is an older tradition, from before paprika was introduced.
The word itself meany only the long thin strips of meat. From there it can be prepared in any way ones like.
The usual paprika based meat recipes demand the meat to be cut to cubes.
