Those that never joined or relied on social media for friendships were smart no matter how "tin foil" anyone considers it. Most my friends are (older, 80s born) millennials, gen X and even a few boomers. While some of us do use the internet we all have one thing in common: we all lived life without the internet, before the days "social media" existed. Most of us knew one another for a long time, some longer than others obviously. IRL relations are, by far, always better. If you live like a hermit or rely on social media then yah you are kinda socially fucked, time to get off the computer/phone and meet some people IRL before you die isolated from real society.
