Jim was begging for donations every single month to host his site and only a couple months did he actually receive the desired amount of funding. Most of the time the donations were far less than needed. I suspect 8kun has been shut down, either Jim can no longer afford the hosting or something else nefarious is going on. Rumors are abound 8kun got deplatformed from the DNS servers or something akin to that and if so it may or may not be a financial issue. Maybe someone powerful wants 8kun gone by now but who really knows? Time will tell. Till then I'll visit here once in a while. We are already in the age where image boards are a thing of the past anyway. Without p2p networks, bit torrent and a handful of cool obscure sites I don't think I'd be paying for internet service anymore.
