True, but even back as early as the 1960s they'd still have to be "in the closet" or face bullying or even risk being mugged in the street, and that was in Western nations! God forbid you did that in any Middle Eastern country or under any authoritarian dictatorship. You say you support dictatorships but ironically most dictatorships would kill people like you without any remorse. If you think life is hard now days for civil rights you have absolutely no clue how the world once was. The biggest killers in human history have been governments. Let that sink in.
