$40 TRILLION in national debt, housing and healthcare unaffordable for most people now, next to no domestic productive industry left, layoffs everywhere, cancer and diabetes killing at record rates, educational system is completely broken, the government only cares about expanding war and hijacking more power, tent cities, homelessness everywhere, millions have to live the van life, fraud everywhere, crime everywhere, filth everywhere, high taxation, endless regulation.

No, I would not call this a first world country or "great" at all. Sad thing is not many countries are much better, we just fell pretty hard is all.
