• The Father (The Monad / Invisible Spirit): The ultimate, supreme, and unknowable source who exists before all things. He is the ungenerated origin who reflects upon himself to know his own nature.
• The Mother (Barbelo): The first emanation or thought of the Father, emerging from his self-reflection. She is often called Barbelo, the "Mother-Father," Forethought, or the Womb of Everything, and is sometimes identified with a divine feminine expression of the Holy Spirit.
• The Son (Autogenes / Christ): The "self-begotten" (Autogenes) or "only begotten" child brought forth through the union or interaction of the Father and Barbelo. He represents the divine light, Logos (Word), or celestial Christ who descends to impart salvific knowledge (gnosis).
