I don't know. I'm just thinking about human sacrifice and why it was considered valid in human affairs in past ancient cultures. What leads empires in terms of psychology to want to sacrifice human beings? The cultures that did it ritualistically were powerful men, and they used to sacrifice their best men and women. Why though? Why sacrifice your best men and women?

Was it delusion about "the gods"?

I think there was a psycho-sexual invigoration they found in it, with the powerful men feeling power over the individual they sacrificed, in order to inseminate and produce more human beings.

It's about power, and that feeling goes to their heads, so that they feel power over individual lives. They feel like a god, having the power over life and death.
