It started getting bad when glow niggers around the globe were hired to wage information wars on unsuspecting social media users as well massive surveillance operations. Now many users have been demoralized and many have given up on social media completely. Consider this - 2k23 boards aren't what they were in 2007 or even 2013. Those people who started in the 2000s left them long ago. Some people have become "normal," and some are not even alive. The AIB.'s have had enough of everyone, they've fallen out of popularity, and now there's nothing new to see here. Being a "bitard" or a "hikkikomori NEET" isn't cool now or makes sense anymore. Especially after the age of 30. Plus, now there are bots or paid shills shitting on popular chans and there are honeypot's all over the place. Posting becomes dangerous sometimes. And the attendance of boards is falling or stagnating. There is no one and no one to talk to.

The reason I still come here is simply because 1) most other image boards suck, are dead or honeypots and 2) there is little left of 'free internet discourse' outside sharing media & chatting on p2p clients, and 3) HELL NO I don't own Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, Telegram, Truth Social, Discord, Spotify, [etc al.] accounts of any kind. I've tried a few alternatives like Minds when they never required your phone numbers for ID, but ever since all the alternatives hopped onto the surveillance band wagon I've given up on all of them too. Those that are not shills, trolls or spooks will come to shitpost every now and then, they won't be spending all day here, no need to otherwise the same shit would happen here. Just like the real world a high-density population always attracts a lot of disease.

Imageboards are basically like Reddit or Quora or Twitter or some other generic social media platform where regular people spew their rubbish uninformed opinions and others read it and think they are well informed and well researched, or people argue over whose opinions are more correct and call each other names over not agreeing with one another. Only difference is in imageboards people tend to think they are special or enlightened when compared to the "normies" and there is a lot of disgusting pornography that you would not find in those "normie" sites.

That's what much less educated people do, but the real reason for censorship is not to prevent those with lower IQ from complaining. It's to prevent people with higher intelligence from forming dissenting opinions that challenge state-run propaganda and narratives, as well preventing higher intelligent people from coming up and creating solutions to many of these problems.

I have talked to a whole lot of intelligent people on the internet, and frankly most of those anons were censored or have abandoned image boards completely due to substantially lower intellect of the user base, increasing levels of censorship and the in-our-fucking face glowing often illuminating from our monitors when we visit these kinds of sites.
