He doesn't need to know. He doesn't drive, he doesn't work and he doesn't go places without carers (except local parks with his vitamins in hand).
Like most who have the mind of a 5 year old (in the majority of cases that's actual 5 year olds), he doesn't need a proper knowledge of where he is because the adults take care of everything for him.
