I think it's a combination of both. They are most likely aware of her troubles but do not have the guts or spark to step in and ask what's wrong. Perhaps they don't even have enough technological bearings to understand what she does online. And even bonbi does not know what's wrong. If she were to explain that she's feeling down because of a bunch of incel trolls, her parents wouldn't understand her zoomer lexicon.
