I remember how people said back in the old threads how it wasn't just the effort that Bonbi put into her work, but she also seemed to be doing it without any ulterior motive. She wasn't trying to get attention, fame or money, she just enjoyed cosplaying and did it for its own sake, and her enthusiasm for the craft was very compelling.
I assume, it would be difficult to maintain the same level of enthusiasm with everything that happened since, especially knowing that there's a vocal part of her fanbase that has become very critical of her, if they haven't started to outright dislike her.

This might be another factor in the evaluation of recent cosplays: the lack of fanmade OC. Even older cosplays that I'm not a huge fan of, I typically found some appreciation for, because they were used well in an edit or some copypasta or something along those lines. Since most editors have either completely stopped making Bonbi-related content or stay away from her new stuff as much as possible, that avenue has basically disappeared.
