How about practical family living?
Enough spots with public transport which is realiable and, er, reliable skintonewise?
I'd easily hunker down in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, could even be an off-grid alp rock hut but fuck me if I need to drive anywhere for anything, especially when kids get into their teen phase and I need to be a full time chauffeur nearing his sixties.
