Might well be, I haven't watched any newer drama series (I think Breaking Bad was the last one I watched in HS because my then-girlfriend liked it, and I didn't think much of it). I have watched some newer reality shows though and it's laughable how bad they are compared to the old stuff, modern US Survivor for example is like a caricature of itself whereas the first 20 seasons (or at least the first 10) were really good and are still rewatchable.
