It's about "information flow" which is influenced by timezones and shifts.
Just because the group you are in is aware of thing X doesn't mean everyone is aware of thing X. This is a mistake done very often by a human mind.
Look at this bread right now, who is making these breads? Who is making the notables? Who is "tyb" posters? Why are some postings copy pasted? How can an anon see the difference in three hours from now? Will the information about OSS crew still be posted in three hours?
