I thought about it some more and one more thing needs clarification. If Joshua used that verse to defend himself against accusation of blasphemy and this elohim was supposed to mean earthly judges/supervisors wouldn't it mean that he didn't intend to blaspheme and call himself God at all? Just a couple verses before he says "I and the Father are one". I have no problem admitting error but this simply doesn't make sense.
