The Despair part comes in with human perception. They say if one calculates or witnesses this sequence, the very fabric of reality itself, intrinsically bound to everything, truly indestructible, it causes a meltdown.

The brain can't handle it I guess, and just gets suicidal from fatalistic realisations.
