You're lucky if they wrote you 20 pages of documentation. That's the mark of an extremely considerate developer. It's rare to come across small projects with anything even close to a being called a manual.

Also GUI frameworks are a massive pain in the ass to work with. They're unintuitive to learn, difficult to debug, and worse, they're extremely tedious. If someone is developing a project for you, for free, you should cut them a little slack for focusing on the parts of programming they actually find satisfying.
