Was Simpsons always Korean though? I don't think so. Not really surprising that we've shipped animation overseas, just like every other industry. Speaking of animation, God damn was the animation and art for all three stories amazing. Even though City of Cannons was meh, the art and animation for it were still something to be in awe at.

Yeah, the whole thing was beautifully animated, I haven't watched any good 90s anime in a while so it really struck me. Of course most 90s anime aren't up to par with this, but the difference is you'd never see a movie or show that looks like this these days. And yeah, the story for Magnetic Rose was so good too, while Stink Bomb was just a fun ride up until the last second. Also though it was funny that there ship in the first part was named Corona, which you pointed out yesterday, and then the whole second part was about a bioweapon escaping from a medical lab. Cannon Fodder was just kinda... nothing storywise, and especially a shame that it came last because I was just left sitting there, thinking "Wait- thats it?" as the credits rolled, but damn if the artstyle wasn't so unique and the animation was just as beautiful as the rest of the film.

Guess I'll have to grab those too.

Also, I wanted to talk more about Memories, I just remembered something.
One of the listed genres for it is "horror" and entirely because of Magnetic Rose. And in that episode, there was a few moments, right after they entered the ship, that were genuinely spoopy. The combination of art, atmosphere, writing, all hit that "ghost ship movie" tone perfectly, and I felt that little sense of good horror that's rare.
Of course, this was kinda ruined in less than 5 minutes, when suddenly Heinz is being chased by robot angel babies, firing laser beams from their eyes but- still it was good right in that moment.
Know of any good ""horror"" anime, that might scratch that itch, too?

Yeah, I got that horror feeling from Magnetic Rose too. I feel like the later bits of pyschological horror with him having to relive the death of his daughter, while this AI based on a bitter jealous woman watches on while impersonating his wife delivered on that aspect as well.
Sad thing is, my answer to your question is no. I feel like anime/manga/etc. are usually too over the top and in your face to really deliver on that aspect of horror.
And I'm not familiar with live action horror movies at all, the only one that comes to mind for what you're describing is The Thing.
If anything does come to mind though that I'm forgetting in the moment, I'll let ya know.

It did, especially when he wakes up from the dream, and has to blast away at the things sitting at the table, and even hesitates to shoot the one that looks like his daughter. Lil' strange he so easily blasted away his wife though, says a lot about ya, Heinz.

Sadly true, like I said, the laser shooty chase scene really ruined what could have been a really great horror. Magnetic Rose is one of those things that's TOO short. That story could have been dragged out to be the entire 113 minutes.

Wasn't his wife already morphed into Eva at that point? That said, he also hasn't already experienced the loss of his wife, at least as much as we're told in the film. Although, I could also see the implication being that she left him after the death of their daughter, as that seems to be the typical end for a couple who lose their first child like that, which would explain his lack of hesitation. Or maybe he just hates his wife, like any sane man.
It was goofy, but I dunno, it didn't ruin the whole thing for me. But I also have a much higher tolerance for that kinda stuff, as we've been over many a times before.

Well- I haven't really looked into it, at all, because it doesn't interest me, so. The latter.

It's fine it's fine, it's fun to think that deeply into it at times. In a fridge horror way, did you notice that the little music box dancing doll looked like Emily? And when it danced, and fell off the table and broke, that's what what spooped him the most. My mind didn't connect these dots till almost the day after, but when it hit me, it hit me. There was such good set up and foreshadowing in that really eerie moments of set up as they explored the ship.
