Tested it with another BO, didn't seem to work. You guys could try and report the result on /operate/.
If a media is scrubbed, then the new file will be placed in a new record, so I guess a new filename would be generated for it.

Just tried deleting a few corrupt media files here earlier, and although the "deletion confirmed" box showed that many files were scrubbed, the next submission of such a file had the same filename, and also didn't work.
It's odd

So the conclusion, whatever BOs do, only globals can scrub the shit effectively.

Yeah. I think the "scrub media" only deletes all media entries which the BO and other Board moderators have write access to.
Which makes sense actually. Can't just have some BO go around reposting pics on their board, then delete all entries

Do we discuss ITT how actually bad infinitychan or whatever software is? xD
>you could be constructive and fix it
Static page generation problems are really hard. To my experience, static pages work better with really simple imageboard software but if you have to generate multiple indexes (catalog and index default) and multiple page variants the thing just takes too long which can sometimes lead to unpredictable (hardly predictable) errors. Apart from catalog, this software seems to generate those useless "previews" for EACH post and all those statistics pages like boards.js (why the hell it's called js when it's an HTML file) are not free as well (though I suppose those are updated every so often and not on each new post). Also in long threads post takes forever to appear (10 seconds and more I think) in actual pages after the successful redirect. Maybe that leads to errors.
Also Tor mirrors, both v2 and v3, separately also, lol, become unaccessible randomly. I suppose Tor is hard to get working right but pls keep it up to date and your system time correct lol. Inb4 your Tor actually gets ddosed.

What else on the news? Cato disappeared again.

I've been thinking about what I said to Hu about format codes being universal and I think he might get a wrong idea. By universal I meant universal to all youtube videos. Other sites may provide different names (not even codes) for their formats. Youtube-dl supports tens of various sites (including twitch or niconico) and is a huge umbrella project. I think at some point it might become just as bloated as browsers lol. After all, it is not a simple HTML parser, it most likely can execute JS code and even if it can't, it must duplicate some of that functionality or some data just becomes inaccessible.

inb4 Hu never reads this

Because of this I typically wait until after a Jump series has been around a while to start reading it.
I think Jump is generally regarded as one of the more ruthless magazines but I guess the practice has allowed them to produce a good amount of popular series. Although, I don't think cancelling tons of series is particularly uncommon for weekly magazines at least. As for the two other big ones, I know Sunday is pretty quick to can something if it isn't an immediate succes, and generally only seems to keep around very few new series outside of Conan, Zettai Karen Children, and whatever Rumiko Takahashi and Kazuhiro Fujita are doing at the moment. Not too familiar with Magazine though, so can't really comment on it.

And even then, "looks good" is a bit of a stretch as a lot of the character models feel pretty uncanny valley. The environments are pretty nice though, but thats not nessecarilly unique to these type of games, although they're not really my expertise.

Not really, no. They did a couple times back when my brother paid for it, but they don't have a smart TV, so they'd have to use a wii to do it.

Yeah, her and Sui-chan are horribly addicted to mobage. They even try to corrupt the other members of Hololive, like I remember Fubuki tried to get all the other members of Gamers(and Pekora, I guess because she also has animal ears) into Arknights, and the two of them tried getting Subaru into that shitty disney fujo mobage.
I'm not sure which alt costume is, probably one of the New Year ones.

Yeah, they are. For Subaru, her New Year's is definitely my favorite because her hairstyle is really cute. I remember seeing that one clip where her and Ui were talking about designing her swimsuit, and one of the designs had her with really long hair, and I was disappointed that they ultimately didn't go with that one.

The first RPG I ever played was this meme system about mutants in the post apocalypse. We all random rolled every aspect of our characters so as to maximize the body horror hilarity.
The game had a "Looks" stat for how- "attractive" your character was due to all their mutations, or lack there of. I was the only one to roll NEGATIVE in this score, when my body horror super mutant woman rolled spiked, chameleon skin, concrete colored hair, 6 eyes, toxic flesh, over 2.5 meters tall, and intestinal worms that made her thin as a rail, MIND POWERS, and... crab claws for hands. I named her "Claudia".

There used to be this old semi myth of making your cum taste better if you ate a bunch of pineapple.
It's partially true because your body will secrete excess glucose/sugar in all of your bodily fluids, including cum, and pineapple is high in sugar content. But you'd have to eat a lot of it, and essentially spike your blood sugar a lot.

Ah- yeah, the later chapters are really heating up~

It was starting to feel like arguing with a flat-earther or anti-vaxxer, you wouldn't listen to the points I was making and essentially said the same thing over and over again.

That said, it is not a slight against you. If you want to talk about something else or I have a completely read the situation wrong, then I'll keep going.

>you wouldn't listen to the points I was making
I listened to all of them. Orbital manufacturing and moon mining as a bootstrap project. It's still not easy at all. You say it's "technical" but from the looks of it the technology is basically non-existing for this and being created as we speak or something.

I very specifically refuted your points, you just dismissed my refutations. There is no way to move forward from there.

I actually regularly do educational booths at the local gem shows and fair where I teach people about meteorites, so conversations like this do happen somewhat often.

>as a bootstrap project
You obviously didn't understand what I was explaining at all. I honestly thin that is a personal failure, though.

>I very specifically refuted your points, you just dismissed my refutations.
Refutations you made:
1) Orbital manufacturing is useful so mining isn't the only thing to do in space
2) Moon base can be used as a source of materials for further space expansion therefore eliminating the need for delivering materials from Earth
3) While not exactly easy to deal with, space radiation problems are workable
Honestly, I agree with all of them at least until I learn more about those problems lol.

The question of profitability of this still stands despite all the refutations, at least for me.

>I honestly thin that is a personal failure, though.
Don't be hard on yourself, for I am extremely stubborn.

One of the points I made about profitability of asteroid mining is that human exploration will be a generational evolution. In the sense that people are not going to be investing in asteroid mining before certain other milestones are met, such as lunar infrastructure.

I have already explained to you the inherent difficulty of terrestrial mining and tried to help you understand that resource exploration is not nearly as easy as you seem to think it is. Along with the lack of national and environmental regulations on the Moon, there is a huge potential for profit once the infrastructure is set up. You somehow believe that people won't invest in a decade-long project that would lead to its investors completely cornering a new market and you also believe that setting up the infrastructure will be a particularly difficult feat that will require new technologies. None of those three things are true and there is no way for me to convince you otherwise if I haven't already

>I have already explained to you the inherent difficulty of terrestrial mining and tried to help you understand that resource exploration is not nearly as easy as you seem to think it is.
Well, apparently terrestrial mining is extremely profitable in my country lol.
>resource exploration is not nearly as easy as you seem to think it is
I imagine most of the sites have been expored and mapped in the 20th century but they are certainly not tapped in yet.
>You somehow believe that people won't invest in a decade-long project
I do believe so, yes. Maybe in "decades long" too. Maybe it doesn't work out, who knows.
I mean, billionaires might pull this off on their own honestly but the possibility of their billions disappearing isn't completely off the charts. In short, I expect extreme volatility and possibly a (social) catastrophe.
>setting up the infrastructure will be a particularly difficult feat that will require new technologies
Various space mining tech is new tech. Moon surface transportation (possibly for miles and more) tech would be pretty much new. Solar panels and batteries aren't exactly new I guess, but the scale of operation and required power might need some new tech. Orbital/moon manufacturing is a new tech applied to every single material we are going to be converting to and from and every new product we are going to assemble.
"New tech" doesn't necessarily mean some revolutionary inventions like lasers or discovery of new materials. It could be more minor but the amount of little steps to be taken might be immense.
>a particularly difficult feat
You say youself it'd take at least a decade. I bet it takes more. Out of "moon base by 2030" and "moon base by 2050" the latter seems more realistic.

But all in all, I am not particularly excited for this anyway, for reasons I have already stated.

What is your country and what kind of mining is it? Also, how long have those profitable mines existed?

>most sites have been explored but not tapped yet
Just like how I explained to you that saying the deep crust and seafloor are viable is not true, this is also a relatively weak argument. Anything that is not tapped yet has not been tapped because it is less profitable than anything else currently being worked due to local regulations or difficulty accessing the material. I mean, you can look at all the failed mines that cover the world.

>space mining tech, & moon surface transportation would be pretty much new.
This isn't really the case either, especially for transportation. We have had rovers that were actually used on the moon for decades now and there are many new rover designs that both NASA and other space agencies have produced. The rover in The Martian was actually based directly off what was the most current NASA rover, which I sat in myself when I was an intern there. Also mining tech wouldn't have to be particularly new. Much of it could easily be adapted terrestrial mining technologies which are already automated in many cases (see coal extraction). Along with that, saying "we already have the technology, but it would have to be at a larger scale than normal" isn't really an argument for new inventions being a major barrier.
Really, the only significant advancement would have to be processing the minerals to extract the elements we want. That said, some solid designs already exist, and the processes would be made significantly easier by the cold, low pressure, and lack of both atmosphere and pollution requirements that exist on the moon.

You say the amount of little steps might be immense, but plans for this have already been made and all the calculations have been done for decades. What will need to be done and how much it will cost is actually decently well understood.

You can believe what you want, it doesn't look like I even have a hope of convincing you otherwise. That said, I live in this world and these exact kinds of plans are what come up on a regular basis. The only reason why there won't be a Moon 2030 is because a lack of interest by the general public. It is risky and the biggest problem right now is that the billionaires are making NASA's 2010's mistake of investing too much into Mars over the Moon at the moment, but we do have just about all the technology we need to make it happen in a decade or less if there was a concerted effort made.

>What is your country and what kind of mining is it? Also, how long have those profitable mines existed?
Not telling. xD
It's not that relevant to the discussion anyway.
>I mean, you can look at all the failed mines that cover the world.
I imagine I would have to have mining/geology background to really make a proper judgement here. This thing already says other problems are more important, for example the correct estimation of minerals in the future mine:
https://www.micon-international.com/minex/
> We have had rovers that were actually used on the moon for decades now and there are many new rover designs that both NASA and other space agencies have produced.
The ones that move 5 cm per second and carry how much cargo exactly?
>Much of it could easily be adapted
I dunno so "easily" that is but until it's adapted, it's "new" in that sense.
>Along with that, saying "we already have the technology, but it would have to be at a larger scale than normal" isn't really an argument for new inventions being a major barrier.
I think it is because larger scale may imply other challenges. Again, it's probably not a "new invention" territory but for example a swarm of smaller drones would operate differently from a handful of bigger drones. Or something else like that.
>That said, some solid designs already exist
Cool if they do. Still those have never been tried. xD
>but plans for this have already been made and all the calculations have been done for decades.
Well, and apparently there hasn't been a single project to actually lay everything out to billionaires so they give money or something. I mean, what's the holdup?
Also practice >>>>>> calculations, I bet you know this better than me. xD
>You can believe what you want, it doesn't look like I even have a hope of convincing you otherwise.
Sounds like a quitter talk but I don't blame you for that. In fact, if I stress you out and if saying harsh words to me would help you with that, then I'm all ears. Kick me. xD
>The only reason why there won't be a Moon 2030 is because a lack of interest by the general public.
Or maybe because your plans are not good enough. I mean, jeesh, I could use a bit of that confidence too lol.
>if there was a concerted effort made.
Are you seeking to become a benevolent dictator? Answer honestly.

I am not sure how it works exactly but I think various Latin America dictatorships or whatever they are don't work that way exactly. The main point is that you really cannot rule for long by being a crazy terrorist. Your own elites would probably assasinate you.

I'm not going to pretend to be familiar with Latin American politics, but you have stuff like the Venezualan dude who's basically starving his people. It just seems like dictatorships always end in something bad happening to the people.

Exactly.

Let me lay out some absolutely devilish ideas:
a) we invent some kind of new weapon to make everybody do your bidding
b) we rich it up to the point of owning some small-scale country and we build it up nicely to make everybody do your bidding
c) somehow we brainwash everybody into doing your bidding
d) we network it up to the top of the ranks so militaries of the world do your bidding
e) work in progress
