That was more ME:LE than the base 3's patches, iirc. You needed to play the multiplayer for maximum readiness if you didn't import a good save.

To be fair, the last two games in the original trilogy had shit stories and writing, too. 1 was the only greatly written space opera style game.

TW2 was broken on consoles on launch, too.
