The most important thing to know about Load is that they cut their hair short. It can clearly be heard in the groove. The controversial album cover is a photo featuring the artist's load mixed in some cow blood. What a cheapo fuck, he didn't even used his own blood. Well suppose he liked jacking off more than getting cut. I'm not sure who is the greater artist, this fag or the other who paints assholes in hyperreal...
Newsted isn't in the credits, not at one song. Weird because supposedly they kicked out their first bassist being too passive. So maybe that was a bs, or somehow they were fine with Jason's lack of contribution, or he did add to the album but they just did not give his due. This is an extra long album with 14 songs on its list, they spent five years to release it, I found impossible they didn't implemented any of his ideas.
Bob Rock also plays on this album, and as I mentioned he had big influence on their output. He wasn't credited either with anything (else than being the producer). So maybe it's just their definition of "writing" is very strict? Who knows.
I always thought about Metallica's music, that I'm fond of the whole Kill 'Em All (except Phantom Lord) and from the other albums I like various songs. But now that I'm relistening this one, I'd have an easier time to list those tracks I don't like.
Hero of the day
Poor twisted me - This one actually not bad, never think to listen it for some reason.
Mama said - It's a nice song, don't get me wrong, I just don't care for it much. I don't listen to Metallica to listen this.
That's it, these three what I'd skip - and even these are enjoyable. Now the mystery of the fourth pick remains.
Bleeding me - I just searched "Bleeding me cover" on youtube and I found her voice kinda fascinating.
