There was very large protest in Uzbekistan about some constitutional amendments. Specifically in a province called approximately Karasomethingpakistan. It seems that, as part of those amendments, the central govt wanted to withdraw some rights from this largely-autonomous region (for one, the right to hold a secession referendum). There were some police clashes or rioting (unclear) which resulted at least in wounded people and perhaps killed too.
The govt has offered to backtrack and those contentious amendments and imposed a long curfew.
In other news, this roller coaster is getting out of control, I would like to get off please
