What's going on on the Hungary since the new govt. was stepped into office? 2 and a half months?
Not much to be honest. There are loud issues, tug-of-war over nothing. Well not nothing but these things aren't really an issue.

The loudest since day 1 is the sacking of the President of the Republic. Problem? He was elected by the Fidesz Parliament, he doesn't represent the unity of the country, which is a huge problem of course, can't live like this. So there was constant bitching about it, PM MP called upon him each week to resign. Finally they made an amendment to the constitution that included him gone. Ofc laws have to be signed by the Prez, if he doesn't do it then they can strip him from his office. So he was forced to sign his own sacking. He could have sent the law to the Constitutional Court, so they can check if this it conforms to the constitution, but it's not unconstitutional, it's just kind of a dick move to make a cookie cutter law just for a specific person, especially on constitution level.

Now PM MP announced somewhere that he found the best person for new President of the Republic: Polgár Judit, chess grandmaster.
Sure why not, we already had someone from the field of sports as a Prez, I don't mind. Maybe she will be a swell one, the Prez is essentially a figurehead, it doesn't really matter except when they can make noise out of it.
And this sounds exactly like that, the whole issue of the new person of the Prez sounds the good opportunity to be loud about, look busy with something that actually doesn't matter much.
Political theater to appear busy without actually doing anything. And to appease their voters since they promised a showdown with the Fidesz politicians.
