There is some scandal around this, part of the political theater. I don't really have strong opinions on the issue. I heard stuff and read the Wikipee page about it. Essentially he was the president of the Supreme Court, picked for the role in 2009. In 2010 the Fidesz won the election and they renamed the Supreme Court to Curia. Then claiming this is a new institution they picked someone else for the role of the president of it, they did this via an amendment of the Constitution. He turned to the European Court of Human Rights, where they decided his removal was unlawful and the Hungarian state had to pay him some dough. Now the new Tisza government, with the amendment of the Constitution removed the President of the Republic, and they elected Baka instead. Basically they did the same way as Fidesz did. Some probably think as rightful vengeance. Others could say: some injustices are more just than others.
