For a long time I've noticed when I look into the mirror it takes a second for my reflection to properly solidify, almost like it takes it less than a second to render. While on it's own it could be a quirk of reflection, there's been times I've been on medications I've been unable to recognize the reality of my weight. My mirror image simply was not reflecting the weight gain I was experiencing and I am now wondering if the moment the mirror takes to solidify it's image is more than it seems.

Has anyone else noticed this shimmer moment when looking into the glass? What could it be?
