I think that's because of the /soy/ /pol/ split
/soy/ was noticeably chuddier and talked about actual real life events it wasnt until froot i think administrastion that they decide to move all chuddy threads to /pol/ which is really fucking stupid since soyjaks will always be political since they make fun of a specific leftist demographic and instead of talking about real words events the board got detached and now talks about the dozen or so gay e-celebs and drama
