I think it is possible, problem is lacking good ideas what could it be.
Last year when the shitflood hit, we realized there was a bug in the codebase that was exploited for the flood. And then the recaptcha and hcaptcha are/were also prone to be abused.
Problem with captchas that quite a few can be plugged into a service with humans to solve, and these days some of the "AI tools" are good enough.
And frankly an autist with too much time on his hands can solve and spam them all day.
But if you or anyone has a good idea, we could look into it, maybe it's possible to implement and could give it a test run for a while.
