Problems with /tv/ Anonymous 01/01/2018 (Mon) 17:40:25 [Preview] No. 8056
Does /tv/ no longer allow video uploading?

I have been archiving some good 'ol shows for a while and recently when I try uploading more videos, the page freezes and seems to block me from uploading. Yes, I changed VPN IP ranges, allow the scripts to run on this site, have DOM storage activated too.

Nothing seems to work anymore. What happened? Is /tv/ now blocking video uploads? It seems so.

Update: some videos are in m4v formats which were not compatible with this website. I am currently converting all the m4v formats to mkv and will continue uploading when finished.

Disable javascript. The only downside to uploading .mkv is that the thumbnails are the endchan logo instead of if you upload in mp4 or webm.

Well I am still having problems. Can't seem to upload anything to /tv/ anymore, or at least not that one thread. I'm going to try posting it on another board to check and see if it will work....

Nope! Looks to me like endchan disabled video uploading! That, or a huge programming error has occurred.

if you are using a firefox clone make a new profile. You can do the same with using the tor browser. I usually resort to using the default tor browser to upload videos because for me everything else would not work. If you are using chrome then just allow all the scripts and everything you should see a percentage counter and that way you can tell. I usually run into the page loading which means the video is uploading and then the status bar says done and the page stops loading(uploading) without the post created page. That is aggrivating and why I suggest trying a new profile with firefox. Run firefox -p. Or acheive the same affect with tor browser as it is firefox based. Maybe even try something like brave or another browser.

I am going to try again from time to time, but I am using the same browser as I have before, and I still allow the endchan scripts, there has been no change on my part. I can only assume it is either 1) a corrupt file I am trying to upload or 2) something changed within endchan, possibly related to file format compatibility.

Otherwise I may have to quite uploading if something isn't figured out or fixed which sucks because I was going to revolutionize /tv/ by posting tons of old classic TV shows throughout the year.

ive been uploading large video files without an issue as long as i turn off javascript op. not every browser has this as a feature, but using opera ive been able to upload some files right at the limit no issue. i had issues using firefox/palemoon. haven't tried chrome/chromium based, haven't tried edge or internet explorer. opera seems to handle these large uploads really well.

Well I assume /tv/ is dead considering that video uploading is now being blocked. RIP /tv/, it was nice while it lasted. I'll be uploading and sharing content elsewhere...

OK, heres an update with my current situation: mp4 still uploads and so do avi formats. mkv and m4v formats will not upload for some strange reason. I have not tested the webm format recently so I don't know about that.

I am sorry if I am incorrect accusing someone of blocking certain formats, it might just be some kind of glitch. I don't know. I tried allowing JS. I tried wiping out my browser cache, switching my VPN IP, all that... nothing seems to help.

I'll just be uploading different formats from now on.

Update: I am no longer sharing All In The Family @ /tv/

All formats were recently disabled and my ability to upload those episodes (regardless of format conversion) came to an abrupt halt today.

Certain other threads seem to upload for certain formats but overall /tv/ is broken.

I wish someone would investigate this but I doubt enough anons give a damn. Oh well!

I checked >>>/tv/ no special format settings. BO hasn't logged in over a month. So no one is making changes, nothing is blocked on tv.

It's purely your set up. Check your files with http://mime.ritey.com/ and make sure we have those types covered in >>1017
