Hello. I sense an interest in this event from the online right and since I live in Spain I feel qualified to inform fellow anons on the issue:

For those that don't know this past 28th of April there was a blackout in Spain and by extension Portugal since they are connected to Spain. The entire country was left without public electricity(IE everything except independent generators) at around 12 and a half AM and didn't recover until 10 to 21 hours later depending on region.

News in English to confirm what happened

https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2025/04/30/power-restored-in-spain-portugal-but-reason-for-blackout-remains-a-mystery

Since then we seemed to have recovered and the casualties were minimal (6 people died of candle lit fires and in some hospitals that could not open their generators in time this number could be more but is the official government owned jorunalist number).

Now how is this event important aside from the fact that this is the first time this has happened in the history of Spanish democracy? Well because it illustrates the green energy suicide and socialists doing socialism

>The president(Pedro Sanchéz who most people in Spain hate because he is a socialist and has lied blatantly to the people all the time and is involved in several corruption scandals) has made three appearances to tell the public that they don't know what happened and they simply lost 60% of the demand on electricity(whatever that means)
>Pedro Sanchéz also said that the public electricity company is a private company when his party(the Spanish Worker Socialist Party or PSOE in spanish) literally appoints its presidents and the government is the deciding investor in its command structure
>The government has implied that it was a cyber attack and that it did not have anything to do with the fact that Spain has gone the Germany route and started closing down nuclear electricity plants
>Several engineers and public figures have pointed out the obvious that all of this has been cause by green policy and that the public electricity company literally made a report in which it pointed out the problem that relying on solar and wind energy is highly unstable and leaves the net open to blackouts
>Several socialist organizations and syndicates now want the government to own more of the already public company and blame Trump and the rearming of Europe for this instead of the fact that the people making decisions in the company are PSOE affiliates that have at best a degree in law and know nothing of electricity(a problem that is in most of the governments departments at this point)
