Actually, I'm convinced this is actually a genuine fuck up originating in the mediterranean area. I don't have proof that it's Israel, but there is proof that there were caronaviruses in waterways in the mediterranean (https://archive.md/SvgZL) and that Israel are genuinely worried about that (https://archive.md/wip/090Zc) probably because they have terrible pollution problems in their rivers especially from areas with pharma activity such as in Haifa.
