On September 19th 1919, Hitler joined the NSDAP. He was only the 7th member. March 20th 1920 was the height of Weimar Republic's hyperinflation. Germans starved to death in the streets. Jewish banking usury destroyed Germany's economy. German industry was stagnant. Families prostituted, including mothers and children, out of their own homes. Drug smuggling became commonplace. July 29th, Hitler was elected to the leadership of the National Socialist German Workers' Party. November 4th 1921, fewer than fifty SA Men had to beat back more than 400 communist jews who tried to disrupt Hitler's speech in the Festival Hall of the Hofbrauhaus. In 1932, there were around 270,000 suicides in Germany and Berlin was the sin capital of the world, thanks to the Wiemar Republic. September 26th 1923, was the Beer Hall Putsch in Munich. 603 Storm Detachment soldiers. They kidnapped state commissioner Gustav Ritter von Kahr, Bavarian police chief Colonel Hans Ritter von Seisser and Bavarian army officer Otto Hermann von Lossow. Kahr was stubborn and would not cooperate. Hitler swayed the crowd to his side with truth, not threats of violence. State police senior Lieutenant Baron Michael von Godin issued the order to open fire. 16 National Socialists were killed. Two of those, a flagbearer Heinrich Trambauer and Andreas Bauriedl who fell onto the flag. That flag became the Blutfahne, a holy symbol of their struggle.
October 24th 1923, a Communist insurrection happened in Hamburg. 14 policemen were killed and 100 people were wounded. October 27th 1923, the Chancellor (Gustav Stresemann) demands the resignation of the Communist Government in Saxony and the restoration of the authority of the Reich in Bavaria. November 9th 1923, the National Socialist party was dissolved and its properties seized.
By March 1924, 1 in 4 laborers were unemployed. A loaf of bread cost around 500,000 marks. March 1927, the Bavarian Government lifts the ban on Hitler's speaking. August 21st 1927 was the National Socialist party convention in Nuremberg with a parade of around 20,000 SA. May 31st 1927 was the removal of the ban on the National Socialist party in Berlin. In July was the removal of the prohibition against Hitler's speaking in Prussia. July 1929, the National Socialist party claims 120,000 members. October 1929 was the beginning of the stock market crash in New York. September 14 1929, in the general election Hitler receives 6,406,000 votes, raising National Socialist representation in the Reichstag from 12 to 107 seats.
January 1932 - Approximately 6 million Germans were unemployed. February, Hitler was made an official German citizen (originally Austrian). This was necessary because of his candidacy for the presidency of the Reich. March 13th, the first Ballot in the Presidential Election: Von Hindenburg, 18.6 million, i.e., 49.6 per cent of the votes; Hitler, 11.3 million, i.e., 30.0 per cent of the votes. April 10th, Second Ballot in the German Presidential Election: Hindenburg, 19.3 million, i.e., 53 per cent of the votes; Hitler, 13.4 million, i.e., 36 per cent of the votes. April 14th, the SA and SS were banned. May 30th, President von Hindenburg ousts Chancellor Bruening and his Cabinet. Franz von Papen becomes Chancellor. June 4th, the Reichstag is dissolved. June 13th, Bavaria and Württemberg object to the proposed removal of the ban against the SA and SS. June 14th, the ban on the SA and SS is lifted.
July 31 1932, Reichstag elections: Nazi party, 13,722,413 votes, 229 seats; Socialists, 7,949,883 votes, 132 seats; Communists, 5,276,887 votes, 88 seats. August 13th The Reich Chancellery in Berlin. Hitler becomes part of the coalition government. Hitler is offered the Vice-Chancellorship and the post of Prussian Minister of the Interior. (1)
