They carried a search warrant and rushed straight upstairs, after which the boy was taken away. Since then, his teenage son has been detained.

> The father said he could never have imagined that his son would be recruited for a Russian espionage operation. “He doesn’t go out, has a part-time job at a supermarket, and shows no inclination to explore the world.” The 17-year-old is described as an avid gamer, skilled with computers, and fascinated by hacking.

> The two suspects were arrested following a tip from the Dutch intelligence service AIVD. It is reportedly the first case in the Netherlands in which minors have been recruited by a foreign power.
