I'm split between the idea that people are bad at expanding their horizons versus the truth that communities on Reddit and Discord are objectively downgraded and culturally similar even if some still have their own traditions otherwise. I imagine AI RPing has also hurt RP sessions across the board. I think a lot of chan culture and older forums are too puritan to some ideal of recapturing a golden age while newer online meeting places genuinely are downgrades in terms of culture and fun.

/endpone/ is this too. That isn't a bad thing. What is when things are being mismanaged or managed in a negative arbitrary way. /endpone/ being more SFW, loving generals, and being in-between peak /b/rony Ponychan and /mlp/ in terms of sincerity aren't spelled out rules but pretty quickly and easily picked up by anyone who lurks here and is pretty easy to understand*. An RP with unclear rules is one that can be arbitrarily run or a chaotic train-wreck. Now train-wrecks can sometimes be fun though if everyone is in on it or just trying to have a good time.
